Course Description
This webinar discusses culturally oriented nutrition education information that is needed to better improve the lives of Hispanics or Latinos with diabetes or at risk for the disease. The presenter will discuss the role that nutrition plays in managing and preventing diabetes, as well as focusing on motivating clients for behavior change primarily in the Latino community. This webinar was designed for health care professionals, community health workers and promotores.

Course Objectives
By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
1. State 3 goals of medical nutrition therapy for diabetes.
2. Describe one component of the nutritional management of diabetes.
3. Describe at least 2 nutrition interventions targeting Hispanic/Latinos with diabetes.

Instructor Bio
Lorena Drago, MS, RD, CDN, CDE

Ms. Drago is a Registered Dietician, Certified Diabetes Educator and Hispanic Education Specialist and maintains a private practice. Ms. Drago also work as a consultant conducting lectures, stress management workshop and diabetes patient education for managed care organizations, business and individuals.
